As a nurse who has dedicated her career helping babies and their families in the Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit (NICU), Karen comes with 30 years of experience caring for both premature and term babies during
their journey towards home. She is certified in CPR, neonatal resuscitation and is a Lactation
Consultant. She is passionate in building resilience and empowering parents with all newborn care that
includes bathing, safe sleep, settling/calming techniques and feeding. As a Lactation Consultant she is
able to assist mothers with breast pumping/breast feeding issues. This can include engorgement, low
milk supply, blocked ducts, positioning and latch. She is also knowledgeable in teaching feeding cues
and safe bottle-feeding techniques.

Karen is knowledgeable, compassionate, and an enthusiastic “baby nurse” who extends herself to meet
all the needs of the Family Unit. She recognizes and respects that bringing a new baby home is both a
vulnerable and special time for each family member and embraces the establishment of a nurturing
environment.
